Summary: Like a grasshopper on speed or something to that effect, this book jumps from one main character to the next. First off, we were with Al and Stan – a couple of Cowboys – as they cornered and captured a pregnant woman and her teenage son. Because of her pregnancy and the child, Al knew that she carried too many “brownie points” and that this would bring him a few steps closer into visiting the next Range where he could spend his time as a “stud”. ( *Gag* ) The men in this book are way too deprived bringing around so many innuendoes it’s not funny.
After being with Al, we stwitched over to Lacey. Having just been woken up, she placed a pair of nunchucks in the back of her pants. As Kenny, the most uncontrolled cowboy, came around with their Cowgirl.. The sight of Lacey sent him into a frenzy and ended in him getting kick where the sun doesn’t shine. His partner was put forced to the ground with a steel bare from the nunchuck connected with the side of her head and left her losing a ton of blood and being nauseated.
Next we join Carole who’s doing nothing more than improving her own form of a bomb. ( Thank the higher ups she was a chemistry teacher. ) After being with her, we join Father Joe and Rabbi Zev as they visit St. Anthony’s to see that gathering that’s inside. What’s horrid is that fact that the old priest has the teenage boy hung upside down by his ankles with… “truncated genitals”. This sickens me.

Summary: The main character – Zev – and his closest friend/ex-priest – Joe – headed out towards Lakewood. They headed out while it was still daylight since Vampires couldn’t be out during the day. One would think they were safe, but no, there’s men called cowboys that work for the vampires – capturing humans, or “cattle”, and taking them to their boss person. Zev and Joe walked along, chatting as it was the hold days once again. They met only TWO humans on their way towards Lakewood, and both had crosses tatooed onto their foreheads. On the other hand, Sister Carole – a former nun – was putting her chemistry expertise to use. The cowboys on the other hand, weren’t having a party. One of their people had been killed and hung upsidedown from a lightpole for everyone to see. The few people that were still alive and against the vampires had horded theirselves into their homes with TONS of garlic and crosses surrounding them. They wanted to make sure they were safe. Problem was.. What happens when the run out of food? ( Also.. While reading, I was getting soooo annoyed at the author’s grammar. He was using the wrong form of verbs and occasionally, he’d use a double negative OUTSIDE of the dialogue.. That’s horrible! Makes me what to cry. )

Summary: Although I read most of the book over break, there’s still a ways to go and right now, in Magyk, there’s a platoon of things happening. In the beginning of the thirty-eight pages I read, Marcia Overstrand – ExtraOrdinary Wizard – was highly upset with the fake message she got from the Message Rat, Stanely. To my dismay, Marcia didn’t care or find it unusual that the message rat was “proxied” and followed what the message told her to do which ultimately led her into a trap. Poor Marcia is now stuck in Dungeon Number One, the dungeon that few have ever survived and even fewer know about. Simon – who I feel is somewhat of a traitor – has found himself free to roam about the Wizard Tower. Back at the cottege with Aunt Zelda, Nicko, Jenna, and Boy 412 are preparing for something dreadful that’s to come. Boy 412′s training is coming in handy as he scouts the area and helps the other two children keep watch from whatever has come into the bog. Line around them is an army of Shield Bugs, which are funny little bugs that have swords, big feet, and REFUSE to go back into the jars that they’re kept in. DomDaniel ( who names their kid that? ) is the new ExtraOrdinary and is after Jenna – the princess – as well as the whole Heap family in order to dispose of them for good.

Summary: Nothing interesting seems to ever happen in the beginning of a book. This one is no different for the first few pages and then… Bam. Guess what? It’s a drive-by shooting! Kurt Wallace, the new drug lord in Miami, was sitting in the Archer Hotel with Sonny Spencer – someone whom he considered to be a flea-ridden dog. Wallace – being a business man – did he best to sweet talk Sonny by treating him to anything he wanted from the Archer’s menu. As the two were preparing to eat – along with Wallace’s bodyguards – a warning sign subtly showed up. The street in front of the Archer was lacking in traffic.. No biggy, right? .. Wrong. The street had a flow of traffic as constant as the tide itself. Seeing no traffic told Kurt that something was up. Almost as soon as one of his bodyguards noticed this, a silver car came screaching around the curb. A Latino was hanging out of the window and in his hand was an AK-14… It’s magazine of bullets was loading and ready to pump out the insects that would fattaly kill their victims… I finished up just after Kurt Wallace, Sonny Spencer, and the body guards were hit. All died but Kurt was the last. His finally words were, “My… wife’ll… kill me…”

Summary: The case finally ended with the two least expected people being the one’s were in charge of all the killings. Burnett and his friend Nickerson had made up this retirement to where they would be in charge of the drug ring while pretending to be after the drug lords. In the end, it turns out that Johnna Burnett was killed because she found out about the whole scheme and threatened to expose them. Nickerson was manipulating Burnett, who in the end killed Nickerson for having an affair with Johnna. This affair was proven by the DNA samples that were found in the semen in Johnna’s body compared to some urine at the first crimescene and a sample from a toothbrush found in Mr. Nickerson’s home. Caine made the mistake of telling his ‘best friend’ this because it did cause the former cop to kill the partner. Apparently, the whole shooting and killing of Burnett’s wife was also staged, as well as the whole gang war having been planned out. Both Nickerson and Burnett had be playing behind the scene for years by peddling drugs – replacing them with simple things like baking soda – as well as providing the guns for most of the shootings held out in the gang war. Made me mad how Burnett used Caine as a way to get information on what the CSI’s had found out and use that against them.. That really upset me. Caine was concerned and Burnett used those feelings to his advantage.

Summary: During this portion of the book, CSI supervisor Horatio Caine returned to the Archer Hotel to collect evidence from the second crime scene in which three crime lords were killed and the fourth was fatally wounded and died later on in his friend’s home. Since Caine’s crew is working overtime. There’s bodies pilling up in the autopsy room faster than Alexx can work, keeping her from “getting to know her victims”. Bit freaky if you ask me.. Anyways, Speedle and Tripp – after interviewing the last of the crime lords from the Archer – had to process the body as well as the hummer where a second body, the crime lord’s right-hand man – was slumped over in the seat, dead and decaying. Probably smelled bad too since he had been decaying there for around twenty-four hours. Obviously, both were killed by multiple gun-shot wounds. Lieutenant Caine is getting really frustrated over the fact that with all the shootings going on, it’s really straining his team and keeping them from their other cases. The gang-war was taking over Miami and if it didn’t stop soon, the Guard was going to come in.. That meant trouble for both the town, officials, and tourism there. It’d not only cause tension between cops but it would scare away all of the tourists, killing Miami’s economy – practically sending it spiralling down the drain.

Summary: In this part of CSI: Miami, it focuses mainly on Calleigh Duquesne and her job as a firearms expert. Calleigh has to go to Cabrerra Univeristy and convince the swimming coach to allow her usuage of the University’s pool while Horatio is off thinking of ways to end the all-out gang war that was started because of Medoza’s death – he was the big boss around town, anyways.

After an arguement of sorts, Calleigh managed to get permission thanks to her quick wit and the help she managed to get from the higher-ups befor visiting the said coach. Taking the Ak-47 in question – after having the coach to take his boys from the pool - she fired off seventy-five number rounds into the pool ( and managed to scare the living boogeys out of the swimmers ). After doing so, the coach’s boys had to collect and sort all of the slugs and casings. Once done, Calleigh heads back to the lab, returns the gun to Horatio, and heads to the firearms lab to finish her testing.

Next, Horatio Caine then heads off to meet the person who is in charge of the AK-47 since it’s supposed to be kept within an Evidence Room where the attorney is currently having it held instead of in the building where everything else is.

Some people claim to have seen UFOs. Are they crazy? Explain.

In my opinion, these people – who have reported sightings, often under oath, of UFOs – are nowhere near crazy. I believe that they have actually seen UFOs. I have many reasons to back up this opinion.

The first of these reasons is that UFOs are described as Unidentified Flying Objects. These could be anything from gasses, satellites, weather balloons, toy planes/saucers, and who knows what else. If it’s in the air, and we can’t ID it, then it’s an UFO, plain and simple.

Problem is, people have a really nasty habit of associating UFOs with ‘aliens’ when this is not necessarily so. This is my biggest reason for thinking that they are not crazy. Technically, they are not since they could be seeing any of those listed things above or even something else. Once again, UFO is not synonymous with spacecraft; although, this also does not rule out the possibility, either.

My second reason is the fact that I, personally, believe in aliens. I truly think that there are life forms on other planets. If humans and other species can adapt to life her eon Earth, why wouldn’t some other primitive unicellular lifeform elvolve and adapt to its own enviornment, and become, over a process of millennia, an aggressive, intelligent, emotional being – just like us?

A phenomena as far-reaching and timeless as UFO sightings cannot simply be put down to madness and superstition; it’s far too prevalent. Now, true, it doesn’t have to be aliens – but these people honestly believe that they have seem something out of the orinary.

Most people who report sightings of UFOs were not looking for them. These peple are not just craving media coverage or soical attention – they are truly shaken by something they, despite many of them being skeptics themselves, simply cannot ignore.

These people are not liars.

They are not crazy.

The two – well three - I believe in the most are:

1.) Words can hurt.

Words can be more of a slap to the face than a wet hand can be. Words from a person that you really care about, especially words that are heartfelt but cruel, will sting for much longer than any physical wound ever could.

2.) Money can’t by happiness.

What’s the point in having money if you don’t have friends? Humans have this necessity to where they need to belong. Without this belonging, they go lose all will to live because they’re alone and unhappy. I know, from personal experience, that I am much happier with the very little money that I have now because there are friends and people around me that I can goof off with and be myself. Unlike if I have plenty of money, some people will only be around as long as you have that money for them to use. They don’t care about your problems or if you’re happy, they just want your money. “It’s all about the green.” I find people who think like this to be Idiots. ( Capital letter for emphasis. Whoo. ) They will never be truly happy.. They will put up an act saying that they are, but deep down, they’re probably longing for some other human who they can connect with.

3.) There’s a special person for everyone.

“A special person doesn’t have to be a lover. It could even be a friend.” For about fifteen years ( can’t count those in which I was too little to really understand ), I had always thought that because of my lack of friends and ability to obtain a boyfriend, that there was no one out there for me. How wrong I was. Around two years ago, I met two girls and a guy that would change the view I once had. Now, I know that there is someone out there. Those three people became my closest friends and several months ago I met a boy that will probably change my life forever. He’s like a brother to me even though we’re not related.

Based on my viewing of “Did You Know?”, I figure that by the time I am out of High School, or even college, the technology I know will be so out-of-date that I will seem more like an old timer rather than a middle-aged woman. I don’t like this idea but it can’t be stopped. Actually, it’s a good thing because this means that more research will be done.

Also, what I think is funny is that the United States things their “all that” when there are so many countries that have outdone us in so many ways it’s not funny.. okay, yes it is. There is a country that has more kids in Honors classes than the US has kids, period. Just thinking about this makes me wonder what’s wrong with our teaching methods sometimes. Is it because we try to add more color and fun to our work rather than just working, or is it just because kids in the United States have stopped caring?

Honestly, until more American people - children and adults alike - start to care, I think that technology and advancements might actually slow. Somethings will continue to rise, yes, but things that require an education will stride on. Plenty of children today tend to forget that they will need an education above high school to get a job better than flipping burgers at McDonald’s. Until they realize this and head for a higher goal, how will America continue on? Instead, we will probably fall behind the other nations, like we have already begun to do.
